hello, something is wrong on windows, with the ContentVersion value in regedit HKLM

if Irish Harp is not 1.0.2 Kontakt 7.10.6 and less will not see it in the library list 1.0.1 is hidden

you can even play only with regedit to check this.

it should normally show the library, even in a previous version not updated.

it seems to be a bug that occur in all builds after 7.7.1,

it is broken since 15/01/2024 and the 7.7.2 update.

Maybe it can be corrected in Kontakt 8 before make it public. good luck!

Hmm - I haven't even got Irish Harp installed - but if I decide to - within Native Access v3.13.0 - I will get 1.02 whether I like it or not. Did not even realize there was a v1.0.1

Still not quite understanding what this issue is…

if you go there with regedit

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments\Irish Harp

change the ContentDir key from 1.0.2 to 1.0.1

if you open Kontakt and search Irish Harp, nothing is detected.

if you open options /libraries, it is not showing in the list.

the hidden factor is only the regedit value. the previous version is not showing in Kontakt.

and you can hide again the last install from this key. revert to 1.0.2 to repair.

even change the value on the old library not updated to see it. this is not a normal behaviour to hide libraries if not updated.

    still not understanding?

    Definitely not understanding these issues:

    • What is the obsession of IH version 1.01 when 1.02 is the current version?
    • What is the obsession with Kontakt 7.7.x when 7.10.6 is the current version?
    • Why you are hacking keys in the registry and then calling it a bug?
    • How do we know this is not by design?
    • How is any use of Irish Harp holding you back (or negatively effecting you) in any way?

Answer a few of these clearly and this might make more sense to me.

Just do not understand why this matters. Or what you are so concerned about. Or why you are messing around in the registry at all.

I think these are fair questions.

I would also bet I could dive into the registry for any app I have installed here (not just NI) and start changing values and see strange behavior suddenly appear with that application.

Regardless - that does not mean it's a bug - it just means messing around in the registry makes weird stuff happen.

All I got was: "If you change the 'ContentVersion' value of Irish Harp in the registry from 1.0.2 to 1.0.1, the library won't show up in Kontakt 7.7.2 and newer - even though it should because older versions of libraries normally do show up."

My question now would be: Why would you change that value in the first place?

There is usually no need to play around there and you - obviously - can break stuff doing so.

this library is not seen until you update it. drag and drop nki or file explorer give demo status under 1.0.2

you can even see again 1.0.1 & activated only by editing regedit to 1.0.2.

this behaviour is a bug of kontakt, detected in all versions up to 7.7.2 and still not corrected by NI.

It is incredible to find oneself faced with so much obscurantism around an obvious error, simply reported.

and the message is more aimed at the development side than at user feedback on the use of the registry.

    This is all that matters:

As of this moment - if you still somehow manage to have ANY Version of Kontakt that is not v7.7.2 (or higher) you (ideally) should not be able to see, run OR install v1.02.

Conversely - if you have Kontakt v7.7.2 (or higher) BUT somehow still had v1.01 installed and never updated it - you should still be able to run v1.01.

AND if you somehow still manage to have Kontakt v7.7.1 (or lower) - and had v1.01 installed - you will obviously still be able to run it.

In both scenarios - as soon as you logged in to NA anytime on (or after) 06-07-2024 - NA would automatically ask you to update Irish Harp to v1.02 AND update Kontakt to whatever was the latest as of that login date. It would be your choice to update any or all of them.

I still do not see a problem here - at all.
