Distortion only activated when I touch the snare on my guitar harder

Hi,

I have a Ibanez guitar and a focusrite audio interface and krk studio monitors.

I use Gruitar rig 7

Distortion is only activated when I touch the snare on my guitar harder. When I play softer I hear no distortion. When I use my hardware distortion I do not have this problem. Is this normal for guitar rig 7 or am I missing a setting somewhere?

@Excalibur , do you this issue with all distortion effects? I would definitely check the gain input of GR7.
