Non-player library additions
I recently moved all my sounds, samples, and instruments to anotother external drive and am in the process of re-adding non-player libraries back into Kontakt 7. Most of them load but there are some that when I hit the gear and then "add", the name of the instrument shows up in the folder list but it does not get added to the main library window of Kontakt. I understand that certain instruments are incompatible with Kontakt but why do they appear in the folder list? Shouldn't I get a message saying that it is incompatible or something similar? Am I doing something wrong? Should I jsut assume that if it doesn't show up in the instrument library, I can't add it?

They shouldn't be incompatible in the sense of being impossible to load or play at least, Kontakt is backwards compatible with Kontakt libraries going back to version one. I have instruments I still use that go back that far. What is not compatible is usually just things like the library showing in the rack view but you can add older libraries stilll either using the Quickload Browser (that is the easiest) or many import into the new KK style browser. eg here is Scriptorium from Soniccouture, one of the oldest Kontakt libraries, nestling and still in use, amongst some of the newest
