Automatic Switching of MIDI Templates when Switching Plug-in Focus
Hey all. I'm sure this varies quite a bit DAW-to-DAW, but i'm wondering what the art of the possible is with regard to MIDI templates automatically switching based on which plug-in you are "focused on" in your DAW.
For example, if i am using Cubase and have multiple non-NKS plug-ins with associated MIDI templates in Kontrol created, the midi template loaded on the S61 hardware would change automatically based on which plug-in is in focus. this would be an awesome workflow enhancement in situations where, say, you are going back and forth between a compressor or EQ plug-ins and a synth plug-in. Basically, the same way the S61 automatically recognizes a focus switch between two tracks with two different Komplete Kontrol NKS instruments loaded.
I understand (somewhat) that Cubase uses SysEx messages to reverse-communicate with MIDI hardware, but wondering how this works in the NI environment (like with NKS for example) and if this could be applied to the new custom MIDI template functionality.

If you are controlling plugins you are still best doing this with NKS, MIDI templates are useful for hardware instruments, DAW control and software devices that are not plugins but for plugins NKS is still much more powerful and can do what you are asking for but MIDI templates won't do those things
