hello i am currently running pro tools 2024.6 on MAC m2 MAX sonoma 14.5 and no NI plugins show up or work in pro tools. they work fine as stand alone plugs on the computer though. I see on the compatibility section that these plugins are not supported yet. When are NI plugs going to start working in pro tools again?

I'm not sure what the plans are for Battery, but Absynth was removed from sale in September 2022 and isn't being updated now. It can still be activated if you have a licence, but support is only up to "current versions of Windows 10/11 or on Intel Macs up to macOS 12"

You can read the announcement here -

awwwww dang. Ok well thank you! Man I really hope they get battery dialed. 🤞

End of sale is one thing, end of life is something else entirely. It would be nice if NI supported their products especially when they're included in current bundles and not simply allowing them to die.

Another example of what's pushing me slowly but surely away from NI.

absolutely it is so wild to me that I have soooo many plugins I have purchased from this company that do not work. I’m pretty over NI completely at this point. Anybody have any good recommendations for a good battery replacement plugin?? I have the complete NI bundle and I think 2 plugins work for me now on my system. Highway robbery.

I own 111 NI plugins only 17 of which are available to me. Nuts.

Why are the others not available? Is it a MacOs/Apple silicon problem, or a more general one? The compatibility list has way more than 2 working plugins so there's definitely something wrong somewhere. Do you get error messages/hangs or other problems?

According to Avid all current NI aax plugins are compatible with the latest ProTools which switched not so long ago to Apple Silicon support - it lists them here:

    https://avidtech.my.salesforce-sites.com/pkb/articles/compatibility/AAX-Silicon-Native-Plugin-Compatibility

Battery 4, Bite, Choral, Dirt, Driver, Enhanced EQ, Flair, FM8, Freak, Guitar Rig 6, Guitar Rig 7, Komplete Kontrol, Kontakt 7, Massive, Massive X, Maschine 2, Reaktor, Passive EQ, Phasis, Raum, RC 24, RC 48, Replika, Solid Series, Supercharger, Transient Master, Vari Comp, VC Series

So it might be a case of making sure all plugins are updated with the Apple Silicon supporting versions or running Pro Tools in Rosetta (eg if the OP is running Kontakt 6 they need Kontakt 7 as K6 doesn't support AS, or to run ProTools in Rosetta mode)

To do that follow this tutorial:

You should need to unless you are still on Kontakt 6 or want to load Absynth - the rest are now native (actually Kontakt 6 is too - but maybe not in aax?)

Battery 4 first appeared in Komplete 9 and K9U. It was 2013, 11 years ago.

If NI came out with Battery 5, or just created a Battery-like Kontakt library, I'd definitely use it. I have tons of drum and percussion libraries that load with Kontakt. I also have Groove Agent, from Steinberg, which runs as its own VST. I really loved the original Groove Agent, because you could drag sliders for complexity and number of voicings. But even the newest Groove Agent offers a lot of customization.

But whatever; it's drums. Just don't take Battery away without providing something equal or better.

at this point of got everything to work now except for battery. NI claims that it works with Rosetta now but no dice for me.

I don't have Pro Tools on my Mac; I have Cubase, Logic, and Live. Sorry, but if you can reproduce it with one of those, I can take a look at my environment. I'm also on Sonoma, and have an M1.

it works as a standalone on my Mac. Just doesn’t show up in protools. I reinstalled battery and have protools and battery set to Rosetta. 🤷‍♂️

Where does NI claim that? It is listed as Apple Silicon compatible on their own compatibility page and the AAX is also listed on the Avid website so I am not sure what is stopping it showing it for you but as far as I can see it is flu Absynth and earlier versions of NI plugins that are not Apple Silicon compatible.

Well, Battery works without using Rosetta. It just doesn't work properly. But that's not fixed by booting Logic (and possibly any other DAW) into Rosetta mode.
