1st midi note not playing when recording with Komplete in Ableton
Hi guys, when I try to record a new midi loop in Ableton with Komplete keyboard the first note is recorded but it doesn't play while recording sometimes if that makes sense? I think this is because my timing is off, and I played the note a little early. Is there any kind of pre-record or any workaround that could make sure that my first note plays while I am recording anyway ? Many thanks

Well, you could start the recording one measure before and edit the clip afterwards or you could quantize recording in Ableton:

yeah that’s a good workaround together with playing the first note a bit delayed and fix it later on. Thanks for that tip

If you ever experience delays from more notes than just the first one, please double-check your audio settings in that product to be sure that you are using ASIO for your specific interface.
Over the weekend, I tried loading an instrument into Arturia Laboratory, and I couldn't figure out why every 4th or 5th note was delayed by a quarter note or more. Then I saw that Laboratory was pointing to Windows WDM or something, and not to my Apollo's ASIO interface driver. The really frightening thing was the latency I was getting with a 1024+ buffer size, lol! 🙄
Michael McDonald from the Doobie Brothers once said in an interview that computer recording latency was a terrorizing thing for an acoustic piano player. Last weekend, I learned firsthand what he meant by that! 😮🤣
