Hey all,

I installed Kontakt players 6 & 7 along with a few NI libraries such as Ethereal Earth, Irish Harp, etc. I also installed one 3rd party library. All of them are showing as installed in Native Access but only Kontakt 6 player will load and it will only load the third party library. Kontakt 7 will not open at all. Any suggestions?

Why would you need both? K Player 7 will handle everything.

K Player 6 is unsupported and retired anyway.

And I not 100% sure but I thought with the Players - it was one or the other - but not both.

Thanks for answering. Why won't K Player 7 load any libraries though? I installed all libraries to default folders.

when I install K 7 Player, my DAW (FL24) shows it with Status: error and under Effect/Synth it just has a ?. Filename is Kontakt7.vst3

What happens when you try to load a library in K7 Player? Error? Nothing?

    Update when you can.

I can't open K7 Player at all after install. K6 Player installs and opens a 3rd party library but none of the NI libraries.

    Even in Standalone?

I do remember seeing some weirdness like this happen here for the briefest of periods when NI forced K7 Player onto my DAW way in late 2022 as K7 was coming out. I installed some library from NA that required it. And the only way I fixed it was to remove K6 completely and use K7 forevermore for all things Kontakt.

AND - if you have downloaded the very latest library updates for Ethereal Earth etc via Native Access - none of these will open in K6 anyway since they are not supported in that version. It's K7 or nothing.

If this was my install - I would ditch all versions of Kontakt - reinstall K7 Player as the one and only Kontakt version and start there.

Yup, i unistalled K6 Player but even with K7 Player installed, my DAW (FL24) shows it as an error status under manage plugins with a "/" under Synth/Effect column.

When I try to open K7 Player as standalone, it doesn't open at all. IDK what's going on and of course NI makes it almost impossible to reach customer support for troubleshooting.

Sorry, it's a "?" showing under Synth/Effect column in "manage plugins"

Used regedit to remove all native instruments folders. Twice all native instrument folders from appdata, common files, program files and program files (86). Uninstalled native access, k6 player and k7 player. Restarted system. Reinstalled NA & K7 player. K7 Player still does nothing when i try to open (even when i run as administrator). Reinstalled k6 player. Ran it as administrator and got this error.

Using RegEdit is not the way to clean this up. There is a dedicated NIRegTool that will do this safely.

Judging by this error - this is getting nasty now. Might be time to contact NI support.

,Yes I used the NIRegTool not the Windows Regedit.

Is there a way to reach a real person or a dedicated support email? I have not been able to find either.
