After around 5 years 2 off my white keys didn't go to original place and stay lower than the others. There are working but the feeling is off. So i had the idea to open the backplate of keyboard in order to check out what happened since I also hear noise when the keys dropped down. Fun fact both happened in same day without dropping something onto keys just playing. I open the keys and I found out that almost half of the keys have cracked weights ( The silver thing that make them go back in original place ) I was trully amazed to find that out since keyboard never left my studio or have been damaged by dropping it.
Looking forward for NI reply for that issue.

Have glue the 2 broken parts and soon will try it out.

Could it be a case of your playing style? Do you hit the keys hard while playing? Do you use aftertouch regularly? Either might put more strain on the keys than a musician who plays more often with a lighter touch. Playing more often than others may also cause more wear and tear. Fingers crossed your repair will fix the problem.

Let's be honest tho, a piano is suppose to be designed to be played. Real pianos can have skilled musicians smash on those keys for 100 years and still be playable. Granted you can service a full piano easier than most ****** midi controllers these days but should be expecting a good 10 years minimum before it falls apart, without having to mind one's playing style to save it from breaking.

Inside of that thing certainly doesn't scream quality from those photos, looks like a heap of crooked teeth.

    Wait…

    (okay, pun intended)

But in my defense, the actual WEIGHT isn't broken, at least not by your picture. It's the part of the key that HOLDS the weight, yes?

In my mind, anything in the world can be fixed with SuperGlue or Gorrilla Tape. Unless this unit is still under warranty. My guess is that some hundreds or thousands of keys were manufactured incorrectly. Could be the fault of a contract supplier.

If you're out of warranty, I'd find somebody who can repair it. If you can't find somebody to repair it, then I'd try the superglue. Just use some common sense and don't glue your damned eyelids shut, and don't glue your fingers inside of your ears. 'Cause if you do, we're going to laugh at you. Deal? 😁
