Session Guitarist/Session Bassist Instances Broken

Hi everyone,

I'm at a bit of a loss for how to fix my Electric Mint and Prime Bass instances in Kontakt 7. The last few times I was working in my DAW (Reaper), I noticed that switching applications (say, to Firefox and back) would cause Electric Mint and Prime Bass to stop working. To fix it, I was closing Reaper and reopening it. But now… It is stuck. Every time I open it, I am unable to do anything.

This is persistent across projects in Reaper, so I am thinking it could be a Kontakt thing. Studio Drummer was fine when I tried it, so I tried to reinstall both Prime Bass and Electric Mint. However, that didn't work. Kontakt had an update available, so I installed that but it didn't change anything. So… I'm at a bit of a loss on how to resolve this. Has anyone else run into something similar?

Here is a picture of what it looks like for me now. It looks similar in Prime Bass.

Okay, so interestingly, this was only consistent across the projects that I was working in when the problem started, as well as the backup files for those projects from before the problem started. An additional thing I ran into was that neither Electric Mint nor Prime Bass would play back.

On other projects I hadn't worked in since the problem started, it worked fine.

I went back into the affected projects and started poking at the UI, trying to restart/reset/reload what I could without blowing away my Electric Mint settings. None of it seemed to help. Then I closed the VST window, hit play, and Electric Mint started working. When I opened it back up, everything was back to normal. Same for Prime Bass, but without poking around the UI.

All that to say… Uhhh, I fixed it, but I'm not sure exactly why hitting play at that time (but not before when the problem manifested) took care of the problem.
