Kontakt - Missing Files

I have the full version of Kontakt 7 (7.10.1) on a PC (Intel i7, 10700; 64 gig RAM; Windows 11; Cubase 12 Pro). Within the last week, when loading older Cubase projects, some instances of Kontakt won't load properly. I get the error message of "Missing Files." Even pointing to the correct folder doesn't help. In some instances, Kontakt loads an instrument in "Demo" mode - as if I have the free version. The only work around I've found is to switch the Instrument to Kontakt 7 instead of leaving loaded as Kontakt. But when I do this, I have to reload the instrument and if I made any mods to the instrument, it doesn't load them. And, this happens inconsistently - meaning: not every track that is loaded as Kontakt vs. Kontakt 7 gives me the "Missing Files" error. Some instrument tracks labeled Kontakt work just fine. Others don't. Does anyone know why this is happening? Again, just randomly started happening about a week ago. I've not done any Widows updates. I have looked through Native Access and it says Kontakt is up to date. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Well Native Access shouldn't be saying Kontakt is up to date since the current/latest version is 7.10.5 released on 2024-06-03. What version of Native Access are you using? That current version should be 3.11.1. Those are the most recent and most stable. Although most of the instability was on Macs and their newest OS versions, but I do remember some issues with Cubase in there at some points. I'm on Ableton so mine has been pretty much stable from the start.

It's sounding kind of like you have a mixture of older version libraries and and newer version applications. I'd probably recommend getting Native Access stabilized and up to date then go through your libraries and see what it determines as far as being up to date or needing updates. I personally got rid of all my earlier versions of Kontakt and Komplete Kontrol and just concentrated on getting everything correct in the current version of Native Access and updated all my libraries to the new VST3 standard and that's proven to work very well for me. But I'm convinced getting Native Access correct and stabilized was the key.

Thanks for responding. I do have the latest version of Kontakt 7 (7.10.5) - I typed the wrong number yesterday. Also, my version of NA is 3.11.1. I will try deleting older version of Kontakt and make sure Kontakt Kontrol is up to date as well. I've also been chatting with Native Instruments. Any other thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks again!

Same problem here. Windows 10, Cubase 13.0.41, Kontakt 7.10.5, Native Access 3.11.1
I would also be happy to receive suggestions for solutions. Greetings Mitto
