Is there any way to get the KK keyboard to send arpeggios to an external hardware synth?

Arp doesn't seem available in midi mode, though it's not very clear from the manual if there is a way to get it to work.

Also wondered if there might be a way to work around this using the KK VST and routing in Ableton?
