housing makes mechanical rattling noise

Today I bought a nearly unsused (but some years old) Komplete Kontrol S61 MK2.

It looks perfectly new and everything seems to work fine šŸ˜Š - with one exception šŸ˜¢.

On the right side of the housing I hear a quite annoying mechanical 'rattling' noise when playing somewhat more dynamically especially on the higher keys. When I press just slightly on the housing (the part between the encoder knob and the right edge), the noise disappears.

In a review of the product on YouTube I saw someone complaining about the same issue.

My first impulse is to simply open the device and see if I can put some felt or similar between the parts making the noise.

Does anyone have the same problem?

What solution did you find (if you did find one)?

Stefan

Yeah, a number of people have had this exact same problem, not enough to call it a major problem but enough have reported this issue over the years for it to be a noteworthy issue, problem is a lot of the previous info and photos on it was lost when they ditched the old forum.

I am not a heavy player and my MK2 is still fine, most issues I have seen around the S88 after some time the keys get loud and what is described as "clacky" but the keybed is different on those.

Best option is to clear a large space and open up the keyboard and see what the issue is. I recall from years ago and some teardown photos the issue is likely some lubrication grease that works out of the keys hinge and allows plastic on plastic but until you open it you won't know for sure.
