My kontakt is actually kontakt 6 player, and its version 6.8.0.
If you want to use Kontakt 6 Player then you can downgrade the affected libraries from the downloads here :
Previous versions of recently updated Kontakt libraries / compatibility with K6 older libraries .
I don't know if I have to update to 7? But why would I have to pay to upgrade kontakt just to be able to use plugins I've already bought?
Kontakt 7 Player is free. If you do not have any full paid version of Kontakt then you ought to be able to just substitute your use of Kontakt 6 Player with the Kontakt 7 Player. Though please notice that you might have to manually replace the Kontakt 6 player in projects with the Kontakt 7 Player. Also Kontakt 7 is VST3 only (not VST2) so prior to switching then make sure that that is OK with your use of the plugins.

You are supplying too little information. What is your computer type ? , what is your OS version ? , what is your Native Access version ? , Kontakt version ? , and any other info that might be of help including error messages, an eventual screenshot of problem and what you have done to troubleshoot so far.
If you open Native Access is there then an update pending or an unfinished download for the Session Guitarist

thank you. I have a macbook pro OS monteray, version 12.3, with an M1 chip. Apparently i have kontakt 7 which is at 7.10.2. My native access says its version 3.10.3. I have done nothing to trouble shoot besides scour the web and update my kontakt and try opening it several times in ableton

Thank you , you didn't say if when you open Native Access is there then an update pending or an unfinished download for the Session Guitarist ? If you have then that might be the problem.
Did you do the must do Mac thing ? : ALL NI apps including NTKDaemon must have full disk access. : How to Enable Full Disk Access on macOS and disks must be of correct format : Notes on Network Drives and Disk Formats
Not sure that it will do any good here you could try the trouble shooter here : My Products Are Showing As DEMO in Native Access , especially '2. Your activation fails because of corrupted or missing activation tokens' and '3. You have corrupted XML files'
Other than that , then since this is a Mac thing then I will have to call for @Jeremy_NI , could you please take a look at this Mac "kontakt is completely updated but it wont let me open session guitar because saying that it's not fully updated." problem ?

Im sorry I provided wrong information. My kontakt is actually kontakt 6 player, and its version 6.8.0. I don't know if I have to update to 7? But why would I have to pay to upgrade kontakt just to be able to use plugins I've already bought? If it is still relevant to my situation I did enable full disk access and deleted all NI and Kontakt files and got them again incase of corruption. Thanks a lot for helping me, I really appreciate your effort.

Thank you. I eventually got one of my plugins within Native Instruments to work based on your help above. However, when I try to open another plugin within kontakt 7 within my DAW it continues to say "file not found", and "Make sure that external drives are connected." I went to settings within kontakt and added the file of the plugin that was not loading. This did nothing, it still says file not found.

Please check to see if this thread is of help Another person solved this by quote : " reinstall and redirect where the plugin is"
My own advice is that you might want to try to reset Ableton (?) or do a deep rescan ?
Ableton : Deep-rescan all installed plug-ins. To start a deep rescan, hold ALT/Option and click "Rescan."
