Some functions of my A49 don't work with Cubase 10
I've watched a YouTuber who could use the browse knob to go to another track, which then automatically got armed (Rec) and was play&record ready. I have to do that manually with the mouse. Also, you should be able to select and move elements on the timeline. Doesn't do anything. Do I miss out some updates? Or settings?
You might want to check the manual if you want to learn more about setting up your keyboard. There is a section about Cubase integration.0
I have made sure it's setup correctly. Other options in the MIDI in and outs are de-selected.0
I have an S Series keyboard and use Cubase 11, but this may also work very similarly with your setup, since the remote control stuff for Cubase has been pretty much the same for a few versions.
In Cubase, ensure that the Komplete Kontrol hardware is configured in the Studio Setup:
As you can see I have the Playhead Left and Playhead Right commands changed from their default settings, so that turning the 4D Encoder scrolls through the Cubase Tracks:
Once that's working, having a selected track automatically Record armed is a Cubase Preference setting.1
Hey Christian, what's your operating system ?0
I use Windows 10 64-bit0
I must admit; there seems to be a lot of Cubase to learn for me :)
Fixed the auto-enable on Rec for the selected track. Only selecting a part of a track through the turning knob and grabbing and moving it around doesn't yet work. I think that will also be a matter of assigning stuff the same way :)0
Do you mean "Loop Left" and "Loop Right"? It's also in my screen capture 😀1
One important thing to check is to make sure to run Cubase and Komplete Kontrol as administrator to ensure both programs have the right permissions on your computer, so they can interact smoothly between both software and hardware: How To Run Programs As Administrator In Windows 100
Thank you for this advice!0
This should not be needed, and is bad guidance. If it is, then either Cubase or Komplete Kontrol is broken.
Software should not be designed to run like it's on Windows 98 SE in 2022.
I've never heard of anyone needing to do this.0
True. Applications need to meet the Windows compliancy. If that's not the case, it need to be overruled by admin rights. But all works fine without admin rights, fortunately0
Hey iNate, welcome to our new forum. I've been dealing with quite a few case where this was needed for a lot of products, it's also present in a lot of our troubleshooting guides and for a good reason:0
I wish I hadn't started Cubase in admin mode. Problem is, that the Komplete controller works with the knobs and other switches, BUT: the notes don't do any midi activity. All but the keys! I have checked out all midi and hardware settings within Cubase. And in Komplete Kontrol.
One note though: I had to change the polarity of my systain pedal and a video tutorial said to me that only the TIP is of importance to set it to cc64. The RING should affect nothing, so I've set that to ctrelchange 0, gate, values 0 to 0. Maybe it has something to do with it?
Notes are perfectly playing in Komplete Kontrol but not in Cubase. DAW buttons and the browse knob work fine.0
If you open the Komplete Kontrol standalone application, do the keys work ? Can you send screenshots of your MIDI preferences there, input & output ?0
Yes, notes work fine in Komplete Kontrol's standalone. I bet this is a Cubase thing. So actually something I'll have to figure out and not bother you about it. hahaha ;)
Other DAWs work fine as well.
I will just re-install Cubase.
Thanks for all the great replies!!0
