Cant affect Automation Curve with H/W Controller / MASSIVE in Reaper

Good day everybody,

After 20 years of Cakewalk and the uncertainty of where the journey will take me, I'm looking for a new DAW. I chose Reaper, I installed it yesterday and found my way around easily.

Unfortunately, I also have the first problem that I can't solve on my own.

With NI Massive, I cannot influence the automation curve with the midi controller.

I recorded a short video about this.

1/ Cutoff on the massive with mouse, everything as desired.

2/ Cutoff on the controller on the left with mouse, everything as desired

3/ Cutoff on the controller, button on the Massive & controls move, but the automation is not addressed!?

It works with all other synthesizers!?

Thanks for trying. In the meantime I found out that this is not an NI problem, but Reaper is the problem.I have the same problem with the Cherry Audio Synth Dreamsynth.I think I'll look for another DAW. It's a shame, I liked it but it doesn't work without recorded automation curves.

Hello,

i played a bit around and i could it only get to work to record midi cc into the clip not into the automation lane directly but at least it worked on my side. Will try again and report.

Reaper is really good if you once know how to do all this stuff, but try as much daws as you can and pick the one that fits your needs. They all have a learning curve but different. I love cubase, started with cubase artist and now use cubase pro. BTW have you tried to actually record a clip and double click it, in my case automation was in there.
