Getting rid of + Groups midi in_Logic Multi

I looked but didn't see a post covering this… I've seen a fix where clicking the wrench

allows you to edit the groups from omni to default. I'm super green, but "some" of my libraries don't have the wrench, but instead have 2 gears. Been searching for the answer for a day or 2… thought I'd ask yall!

Thanks so much! and my apologies if it's already been covered

peace! ~

This hasn't happened to me but has been reported by a number of people. In the video below, the guy makes it clear that this is something that has newly arisen and wasn't there previously.

    1. Does this apply to you?
    2. Does it happen when you load the same instruments into the standalone version of Kontakt?

It seems pretty clear that this is some kind of rare and fastidious bug in Kontakt which is making changes to the group channel settings when it loads the instrument. People describe it happening in Cakewalk and Reaper as well as Logic so it doesn't seem to be a DAW issue. If your instrument doesn't have a spanner in the top left corner, it's uneditable and there's nothing you can do to correct it.

You could try reinstalling Kontakt. (And possibly the instrument, especially if you've saved it)

And you could certainly contact NI about it.

Could you please send the screenshot of these libraries?

Sure… it's literally the factory lib 2. Here i have a drum kit from the band/drums folder that works fine… then djembes from the acoustic/perc folder. seems like many in that perc folder default to the "+ groups" setting. and you can see i don't have a wrench, but gears on both. is there a way to change that?

sorry, i'm just getting around to using kontakt and logic. been using tools and reason for 25 years! haha… this is a nightmare!!

Yes... this is the same vid I found. I get the same issue except the factory lib is not uneditable. Same instruments load the same way regardless of loading in Logic or standalone.

I may try reinstall and will report to NI

    Thanks!
