Guitar Rig 6 - plugin inactive in Pro Tools

Hi all,

I received Pro Tools session and 1 of the AUX tracks has Guitar Rig 6 plugin inserted.

I do have have Guitar Rig 5 pro and Guitar Rig 7 free version, but not version 6 and plugin stays inactive.

I'm not frequent GR plugin user so I wonder are they not backward and forward compatible?

Most plugins would still be active despite not being updated to the latest version, so isn't the same case with NI instruments?

I agree, it would have been better if everything was back compatible. I can understand not having forward compatibility or people wouldn't buy the upgrade. I'm guessing there were internal changes that made it difficult to make GR7 back compatible.

Thank you so much for letting me know. Shame about forward and backwards compatibility. in my case I will just ask what presets they used in GR6 and I am sure they still should be available in GR5, or GR7.
