Komplete Kontrol 2.9.6 can't find the Vst Plugin

Hey, I have a problem. I'm still using the MK1, so I need to use KK 2.9.6 to use it fully. Since today, it doesn't seem to work anymore. I installed some updates on Native Access (and I stupidly didn't payed too much attention, which ones) and accidently also installed the newest version of KK

A little later, I noticed my MK1 wasn't working and after some time, I found out, I had the wrong version of KK. So I deinstalled it and reinstalled the 2.9.6 version. But since then it just didn't work. Cubase crashed, when I started it with the external plugins and I also wasn't able to start KK without Cubase at all. It just closes itself, whenever i start it.

The Moment, it starts scanning for VST, it closes without any errors. I tried installing the VST at different locations. I checked, where the newest version of KK installs the VST and and installed at the same location, but it still didn't work

Kontakt is completly accessible and works fine in Cubase, it's just KK, that doesn't work

NA version is 3.9.1

Can anybody help?

If you need more Information, pls tell me because i'm not sure, what is important and what isn't

I just wanted to open a support ticket, and before you do, they had a few solutions. one included deleting the KK folder in the AppData folder, and it worked. I can use it again. For some reason, it still uses Vst2, but that's a different topic.

Thank you very much for your help!

    "Can anybody help?"

    I can.

Unfortunately - (and I see you have noted) that your MKI board is not supported for the latest Komplete Kontrol v3. You will need to uninstall KKv3 and rollback/reinstall KK v2.9.6.

If you have rolled back and it's not working in Cubase - my first question for you is:

After you reinstalled KKv 2.9.6 - did you start KK in standalone mode to ensure the plugin DB was rebuilt and other requirements were completed - PRIOR to trying to use KK in Cubase?

Cubase also may need a full plugin rescan too to "see" the return of the KK v2.9.6 VST3.

If none of this works - you should probably reach out to NI Support.

I am not the expert here ! , Vocalpoint is ! I am just adding some information in case that it can be of use.

There is a very informative thread over here (lead by JesterMgee) !

No sadly Komplete Kontol doesn't even open as a standalone app. I have installed KK 2.9.6 already and Native Access also recognizes it as Version 2.9.6

Vst3 Plugin is at the right location with every other Vst3 plugin and same for Vst2 Plugin so there shouldn't be a problem, I think.

Cubase actually only shows KK with the vst2 Plugin which confuses me, as the Vst3 plugin is in the same location as everything else

What happens on screen when you try to start it standalone? Error message? Nothing at all?

Your plugins look good as far as locations go.

With Cubase - who knows. Not familiar with its block list or how it builds it's plugin database.

Looks like it's time for a support ticket.
