kinda bizarre all the people that do not understand that mk is short for mark, or version...constantly hearing people say 'm k 3' vs 'mark 3' like mk is an acronym....and it is not

I have a hard time "saying" any of those things when I'm typing a response.....

I don't here anyone saying anything, I read people write MK3 because that is shorthand for Mark and if you were to instead write V3 then people would get confused with KK V3 or VST3 (which people already seem confused that KK V3 is "VST3" and KK V2 is "VST2"). Poor choice on versioning at these times.

    Like Iron Man's "Mark 42" suit. "MK42"

At least we're not doing Roman Numerals! XLII, indeed! 🤨

Ah, yeah, I like how you use "Influencer" and "Clueless" together in the same sentence with any kind of bewilderment.

A lot of the time it is literally because they only know enough on the specific topic they are making a video on to make a video to get some likes. In a lot of cases, especially around DIY topics, these "influencers" just give straight up bad/dangerous advice because of a lack of understanding but how is anyone not versed on a subject ever going to know without reading the comment section, which in itself is a minefield.

Usually things like you say are a warning sign that the piano teacher is only studying the course of the student one lesson ahead...

Well, i'd class that as promotional material not influencer and simply reciting the "M.K" that is listed on the product. In all fairness, no one really refers to things as "The Mark 3" (or very rarely maybe outside cars) likely because that in itself would confuse people not knowing what MK stands for when they see it.

Funnily, MK is short for "Mark" in letters but when saying it, introduces an additional syllable making it longer to say than just "Mark". Strange how we sometimes make more work for ourselves in the process of making things "easier".

Bizarre but interesting thing to dissect tho.

i write and copy edit as part of my creative work, so i am overly sensitive to stuff like ATM machine where machine is redundant. nothing wrong with emkay three.... just struck me as funny...mk is a feature!

in fact, my brain started putting myself in shoes of n.i. pr dept... and here is my ****** answer...

m k stands for model komplete......

Ha, Yeah I was raised by a mother and grandmother that would call me up for saying the wrong Preposition in the incorrect order like "Me and my friend...." NO, "My Friend and I..." and I have to bite my lip around my kids and their friends a lot, because that level of language understanding appears to have eroded.

Consider even tho it is redundant, how strange you would appear to sound if you said "I just have to stop by the A.T. Machine" to get some cash (tho who uses cash now). It's one of those social passes we give people just because it's the norm.

Yeah, my dad was college professor and author, so a bit of that. My ex wife was funny, too: "That is one fine car, I must say." and she would reply "must you?" LOL

"...introduces an additional syllable making it longer to say than just "Mark". "

It gets even more confusing if you're from Baaahston and you pronounce "Mark" as "Maawk".

Or if you're a teacher from South Park and you pronounce MK as "mmm'kay..."

😁 I'll get my hat and coat now...

Yeah, the whole "em kay" thing is annoying. Similarly in the US when they say "could care less" instead of "couldn't care less". People that write "alot" instead of "a lot". People that start sentences with "So" (both written and spoken).

That last one is getting particularly bad on TV programs where the presenter is talking to a guest, asks a question and they respond with "So...." 🙄

If I was producing the program I'd get them to do it again 🤣

Those damn YouTube videos that have titles like "This product is amazing at doing this". What product? What does it do? AARRGGHHH! "If you have a computer, you need to do this now". Do what now?!

I'm just a grumpy old man.

So you're saying you could care less and alot of people should just get off your grass?

    🤣

And yes, it was actually painful for me to write all of that. I think I have a headache now!
