Can't I use an external hard drive for Kontakt 7 libraries?
Hi, I just purchased Kontakt 7 as crossgrade. I dont have enough space on my computer for the Kontakt Factory Library 2. I have an external hard drive, it is not an SSD. And I have tried 2 times to download the content there and it shows me it's downloading in native access, I can see it and it takes time to download so I think it actually downloads it. After it's completed I open up my daw and Kontakt but nothing shows up, and nothing shows up in the external drive location that i've set too. I guess it just doesn't actually download it but I dont know what's actually happening. Can't I download the factory content to an external hard drive? And can you explain what is that disappearance is about?

A lot of especially Mac users uses external drives for the Content location setting in Native Access. But I am rather sure that most would tell you to use at least an SSD for that. That said then my own content drive presently is a mechanical internal drive.
If you have problems then first of all then always make sure that you also have plenty of space on your temporary Download drive also there has been some discussions where it appears that not all Mac users have as much drive space available as they think..
Also , and very important then all N.I. apps including the NTKDaemon must have full disk access in your Mac and drives must be of the correct disk format ! If you have Private Relay in your OS turned on then try disabling that ! Also be sure to use newest version of Native Access for your OS (if your OS is old and not compatible then that is not it)
Else please state specific computer type and OS version !
