Hi all, still setting everything up exactly how i want it.

I have Kontakt 7 and have Studio one and Kontakt working together as I want.

1) In Kontakt 7 Manage Libraries I have

"Files, Libraries, Quick-Load: Double-clicking on a file replaces currently selected instrument slot"

Unticked.

"MIDI channel assignment for loaded patches "

set to "Assign first free"

When I double click on an instrument on the PC, it doesn't replace the current instrument, it adds the next instrument on the next available midi chanel which is exactly what I want.

However. on my S88 mk3, if I browse for another instrument and select one, it replaces the currently selected Kontaky 7 instrument, which isn't what I want, is there any way of getting the S88 to act in the same way please?

2) Lets say in Studio One I have one instance of Kontakt running which has "Irish harp" on my first track on midi channel 1 and "The Giant" on my second track on midi channel 2.

This is all working fine from the Studio one side of things.

However, on my S88, the display doesn't change instruments when I change tracks.

I select track one in my DAW and S88 happily plays the "Irish Harp" but the S88 is displaying "the Giant" hence the knobs control "The Giant" and I have to press the Left button at the top of the screen to change it to the "Irish Harp".

Likewise, I've changed the S88 to display the "Irish Harp", I now select track two in my DAW "The Giant" but while my S88 plays the Giant, it still displays the "Irish Harp" hence the 8 knobs control the "Irish Harp" and I have to press the second from the left button at the top of my screen to change the S88 display to the Giant.

Is there anyway of doing this please?

Thanks

Thanks, my first problem has mysteriously stopped happening, I had it already set up as you suggested.

Was probably something I did in Studio One

My second problem, the solution you provide works 100% perfectly. It's probably fine for what I do as I don't tend to use tons of Kontakt tracks.

However what I was originally trying to do was have multiple instruments in one instant of Kontakt (each instrument having it's own instrument track) . This works fine except that the S88 doesn't automagically change the instrument.

So with separate instances of Kontakt on each DAW track, changing the DAW track from the S88 mk3 works fine, automatically changing the instrument.

But with just one instance of Kontakt having a separate DAW track for each instrument, while the S88 changes to and plays the correct sound, the display/knobs stay on the previous instrument and I have to manually press the two left hand buttons above the screen to change to the correct instrument

I followed this YouTube vid to set up multiple instruments , from "Studio One revealed" starting at around 5:47

@Ojustaboo You can set up Kontakt to load instruments so they load on a different MIDI channel. You need to tick that box,

Then on your keyboard load the first instrument in your rack, it will load on MIDI channel 1, then press the second of the eight buttons above the screen, then browse for the second instrument, load it, it will load on MIDI channel 2. Now you have your multi on the keyboard and can navigate through your instrruments in the rack. Problem is you will need to have separate instrument tracks with different MIDI channels in Studio One. Not sure if it's the best setup.

Regarding the other issue, that shouldn't happen. You should create an instrument track, load Kontakt 7, load an instrument, then create another instrume,t track, load another instance of Kontakt 7, load another instrument. Now you can navigate with the encoder from Kontakt instance to Kontakt instance. If that's not the case, what's your operating system?
