Hi

I am loading an older session from this year. Massive is not showing up as a vst in ableton 11. I am using Sonoma and the newest ableton 11 update. I rescanned my plugins in ableton. I see massive in the vst folder but it won't show up in ableton. AU shows up but Icant replace it in the session because the preset won't show up. please help.

@jojijung Was this older session made on another computer, or maybe on this one but in Rosetta mode? How to Open Your DAW Using Rosetta VST2 is not supported on MACs in native mode and never will be. Ableton also doesn't support migration from VST2 to VST3.

The solution would be to open your project in Rosetta mode, find which preset was used, load a Komplete Kontrol vst3 track, load the same preset, copy the MIDI track to it. Now your project is future proof.

Thanks for the quick response. I am on a Mac Studio m2 chip. So I could try Rosetta.

also does it matter for CPU usage which version. To use. Vst3 or AU it is always confusing. What is the most efficient so I can continue my projects using those versions only if that makes sense. I am asking for any plugin ex kontakt, realtor etc.

@jojijung Well, AU being Apple's own format, if you're worried about compatibility with Apple processors, AU is probably the way to go.

THIS IS HAPPENING TO ME , BEEN AT IT ALL DAY.

project from 2017. and vst (massive) is in the folders but cannot be loaded or seen.

    '

massive.vst3 is seen but no vst

I created a vst folder and made ableton or any daw look at it, it sees nothing whhat I do get is this

That VST2 is damaged and cannot be opendd

This specific screenshot is on Sonoma 14.2.1 intel so no apple silicon

same on m1 max on sonoma 12.2.1

    and m1 (macbook pro 2020)

whatever the new os is it6s on that

also the vst is shown from 2018

reinstalled via your Native access twice and it puts that same file there.

I do not have the luxury of the above solution as Massive is not opening in intel machine or apple silicon on native or rosetta mode

@Benjohnson Can you open Massive in standalone on this Intel Mac? Does it open and work as expected? Please carry out these steps for Massive: My NI Software Crashes at Startup (macOS)

Make sure that Ableton has full disk access: How to Enable Full Disk Access on macOS

Perform a full rescan of all installed plug-ins by holding ALT/Option and pressing "Rescan Plug-Ins" in Ableton.

    Any of this helped?
