Kontakt Instrument Knobs Not Responding To A49 In Logic

With Komplete Kontrol now uninstalled the knobs on my keyboard are no longer affecting Kontakt instruments in Logic or in stand-alone mode. Is the A49 compatible with Kontakt without Komplete Kontrol being installed? My workaround for now is putting the A49 into MIDI mode then mapping the CC Automation manually to the knobs, one at a time. Am I missing something? Should the A49 and Kontakt play nice together or is this functionality broken now that KK is uninstalled?
