Native Instruments in Reaper

Please pardon the newb question...

I bought a Komplete Kontrol 49 key as well as a few new sounds.

I think I'm getting confused with when I need to use Komplete Kontrol software and when I use Kontakt 7.

In Reaper, I've created a new virtual instrument track and loaded Get Good Drums but it doesn't seem to be receiving midi from the keyboard.

Any ideas what I'm missing here?

Thanks

Mike

Hey Mike, well, you have a MK2 keyboard so if you want full integration (browse presets, load them, play and control them) then you need to use the Komplete Kontrol plug-in. You can use the keyboard with Kontakt as well, just like a standard MIDI keyboard.

That all makes sense Jeremy, thanks.

Trouble is, it doesn't answer the question.

Why, when I play the keys on he Komplete controller in Reaper, do I not hear any sounds being triggered?

Midi receive is set to "all" in Reaper but it seems like the midi notes are not being sent to the sounds/sample set.

    Thanks

    Mike

@immikemurphy I'm not familiar with Reaper so I can't really be of much help. Maybe this will help:

Configuring your MIDI Keyboard / Controller in KONTAKT

    Hi Mike,

I sometimes have weird issues in Reaper with my NI keyboard. The settings are important however. Go to Reaper Preferences (under Options) and set your MIDI Devices like the attached image.
