How to send parameter values from NKS-mapped KONTROL MK3 knobs for recording in MIDI tracks?

Hi,

While KONTROL S88 MK3 sends MIDI OUT CCs for ModWheel changes or aftertouch while being in PlugIn mode, it sends no MIDI data for any parameter changes of the NKS-mapped knobs.

How to record these? The automatic parameter mapping in NKS for the various instruments is a big step in Kontakt7, however, useless if parameter values shall be recorded without leaving the PlugIn Mode (loosing the lightguide functionality and automatic knob assignment), and without manually assigning MIDI CCs for each knob and for each instrument.

Any ideas?

You can record knob action as MIDI CC in MIDI mode but you were asking how to do that and keep lightguide functionality and NKS param mapping and the only way to do all of that is using the USB connection.

They don't send MIDI, data is recorded using host automation (same as when you want to record moving a plugin knob with the mouse), which is higher resolution than MIDI data. So whatever your DAW is, you need to set track automation to one of the record modes (which are write, latch or touch in Logic and most DAWS).

Thank you very much!! If I understand correctly, recording of MK3 knob action is only possible if the USB is plugged into the DAW computer, not if plugged into the slaves computers where the libraries are. So use of full MK3 functionality is limited to use of one computer for both, DAW and library?
