Komplete Kontrol 3.1.0 Just doesn't work at all anymore

KK was triggering random drum hits while running in my DAW as I was also running one of my drum programs (Addictive Drums) and running NKS software (Impact Soundworks Pedal Steel) so I removed Addictive Drums from the KK library along with other VST's KK tried to hijack and take control over...even compressors, amp sims, etc. They don't need to be controlled by my keyboard (KK S88 MK2). NOW...nothing works in KK. I have tried reinstalling it, followed tech tips here, even gone into my registry and removed all references to KK AFTER uninstalling it to reinstall and try to rebuild its data base. God, what a nightmare this is.

If anyone knows how to COMPLETELY remove ALL NI EVERYTHING and start again from scratch or even, and ESPECIALLY just get KK to rebuild it's damn data base...you know...like normal software does, that would be great. Nothing Native Instruments suggests works...so far.

Thanks

Is your KK S88 a MkI? If you have updated to Komplete Kontrol 3 there’s your problem as the MkI series is end of life and isn’t supported by Komplete Kontrol past 2.9.6

You can revert to the last supported version though from this thread

OK, I'm on MkII too, so if it's not that then it should be working normally so there must be some specific reason why it isn't on your system. Unfortunately I don't own either of the products you mention but I do know the Pedal steel is meant too be NKS compatible, though not sure about Addictive Drums as the web page doesn't mention that one. Have you contacted the developers of those products as they are not NI?

Again, Komplete Kontrol was working except it kept triggering random...and extremely annoying, drum hits while running Addictive Drums and Komp Kontrol at the same time in my DAW. I don't want KK to control Addictive Drums (or MODO Drums IK Multimedia). I do that myself in my DAW so I removed it from the KK library along with all the things you don't want a midi controller to control...like compressors, limiters, amp sims, channel strips, etc.. KK has no use to me (or anyone I know) taking over these functions so it should be a simple removal from the KK library so KK DOESN'T trigger these and other VSTs that simply aren't used by a midi controller.

This has happened before while running both NI and NKS software in Komp Kontrol as well as Kontakt 7 at times. Now, it doesn't work at all at it won't re-populate its own VST library like I'm told it will.

    Wow.

It seriously messes with workflow and right/left brain function and kills creativity...and seriously p***es me off. This, like other software we're all told will make our lives so happy, shouldn't have these kinds of issues especially when paid for and not all that inexpensive either.

    Lord, get it together, NI.

Rant completed. Thanks for your kind response.

Were you using VST2 or VST3 plugins before? By default KK 3x uses VST3 but it is still possible to load VST2 but you need to add the plugin path and rescan, and on Mx series Macs obviously also run in Rosetta mode (guessing you are on Windows though)

I was using both but mostly VST3. KK can't even run NI stuff like Etherial Earth, Hypha, etc let alone any third party progs. Thankfully I still have Kontakt 6 which seems to run everything I need at the moment and isn't clumsy and glitchy like Kontakt 7 (a totally separate rant...eye roll).

Obviously (or at least I think) the library in KK is corrupt somehow but I can't even get it back to scratch with re-installs and the support procedures published here.

If there isn't a fix somewhere soon, I'm going to try to downgrade. Other than that, I'm at a loss other than wiping my drive, fresh Windows 10, start over and that is far too extreme for some software that should be able to be sorted out. I'll sell my controller and wipe every trace of Native Instruments software before I do that.

I'm holding my tongue for now...believe it or not... but that's when the EXTREMELY negative press will fly everywhere I can publish, and talk about it.

    Listening NI? Hope so.

Quit being such amateurs. You've been at this...how long, now?

Have you tried changing the midi channel on either Komplete or the other instance of addictive drums in your daw. sounds like a midi triggering conflict. Is something set to Omni rather than 1,2,3 etc. you probably better off raising a support ticket as there are too many variables we don't know about like build, software versions ,daw versions, external triggering equipment connected etc

    Hi Geiger,

    Thank you.

Yeah, with regard to the random drum hits also sometimes other random events like piano hits etc., I've changed the midi channel and sometimes it worked. Other times it didn't make a difference which was why I removed Addictive Drums and all the other VST's that didn't belong in the KK library.

Good point on the midi triggering conflict though, thank you.

    Problem solved.

I uninstalled...again and hunted and found corrupt Windows registry entries, removed them, reinstalled and everything works.

    Thanks for the help, everyone.

    Cheers
