Hi i was wondering if someone could explain a few things about setting up the komplete kontrol m32 in ableton that i cant seem to find in the manuals or in youtube videos so that i can understand why certain glitches are occurring when they occur.

The section i cant seem to understand is the midi ports section at the bottom of the link midi tab. For the section above i already know i have to do control surface> komplete kontrol A, input> komplete kontrol M DAW, and output> komplete kontrol M DAW. However the section under is where im lost.

Could someone explain what exactly each of the track/sync/ and remote switches do? I swear i couldnt find a good enough explanation anywhere (manuals, youtube, forums). Also how come there are two sets of komplete kontrol inputs in outputs? komplete kontrol m32 and komplete kontrol A? Do i toggle switches for both? or do i ignore komplete kontrol A?

Ive provided a screenshot of how ive had it configure so far. The problems occur in a few ways currently. When i first load up komplete kontrol in a midi track, everything seems fine. The browser and plugin buttons light up on the controller and i can browse sounds properly. However when i load up a second instance on another midi track, things start to get weird. When switch back to the first instance, the controller doesnt switch its display to the info of the first track. The browser and plugin buttons no longer can be used and even some of the transport buttons dont light up. Any buttons that do show affect the latest instance of KK even if thats not the instance you have selected in the daw. It will stay locked to the latest instance whether its the 3rd 4th 5th etc. and all the ones before you cant use the KK m32 functions with them anymore and you have to resort to just using your mouse in the daw like a peasant (lol). Setting midi controls in midi mode also doesnt work properly.

Idk if i have it set up properly this time around cus i just got a new computer. It used to work fine and all the m32 functions and ableton integration worked to its fullest capacity. I just know i have something set up wrong.

Another section i found that i dont understand is in the KK plugin itself when you open it in STANDALONE mode. In the drop down menu at the top of the plugin window, if you go to edit> preferences, theres a midi tab there too. KK M32 shows up in both the input and output sections. What happens check m32 in both input and output? do i just check one?

If anyone could explain this to me and detail that would be amazing. I dont wanna have to deal with controller issues anymore :(

    Hello,

just like so, you could set the option for remote too later if you want to control ableton racks or whatever with the m32 in midi mode.

    in short.

Track - is just for midi notes or midi cc/pc messages to tracks (but cc you wouldn´t do anymore normally - you would use remote)

Sync - midi sync in or out to.....sync soft and hardware

Remote - to control all knobs faders, cells and stuff, everything you see in blue after selecting the mapping "pencil" on top right, or cmd/ctrl + m

Hey i didnt how to reply to your response @Uwe303 .... But i set it up like you showed and i still encounter the same issues. The m32 functionalities dont work properly still. I even toggled remote as well to see if that fixes it. The exact issues are the ones i described in my post in the paragraph under the picture. Could my m32 be broken? PLease help.
