The article on a Krashing Kontakt is in fact helpful BUT!

Be careful if you (like me) were experiencing crashes related to using an output configuration that you had saved. The steps which involve deleting the Application Support folder for Kontakt very well may delete your output config files if you don't track the files down and put aside copies. I was able to do this and restore my configs after deleting the folder as per instructions
