Komplete Kontrol VST3 plugin not visible in Ableton Live 11

I just purchased the KK s49 MK3. I updated to the latest version of KK on Native Access and now I don't see the VST3 or VST2 plugin in Live 11. I read somewhere that NI pulled the vst2 support but I still can't see the VST3 plugin. I have done everything I can think of. I reinstalled the product a few times and rescanned plugins. The only .dll's I see in the common files folder or mschinelibAVX.dll and sqlite3.dll. I'm so confused, and very annoyed as well. Please help.

Can you see other VST3 plugins? Sounds like you are looking in the wrong place, sqlite3 would not be in the VST3 plugin folder which suggests maybe you have not pointed Live to the VST3 folder?

If you're on a PC you shouldn't need to change paths for VST3 files as they're always in C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3 You should see "Komplete Kontrol.vst3" in that location. Do you see other VST3 plugins in Ableton? If not make sure you have "Use VST3 plug-in System Folder" ticked in the Plugins tab of Preferences for Ableton. You don't need to enable the custom plugin folder.

Yes I have other vst3 plugins and they are visible. That's primarily what I use. I do not see the kk vst3 plugin in there. All of my other plugins are working, including all others from native instruments. I own komplete 14.

If you don't see the "Komplete Kontrol.VST3" (not.DLL) file in your VST3 folder it sounds like something went wrong with the install. You could try uninstalling it from Control Panel, then reinstalling it from Native Access and see if it gets installed correctly. I'm making the assumption that you're on Windows?

I got it to show up. It makes no sense but I'll tell you what I did. I searched my entire HD for komplete kontrol.vst3. I came up in the the C:\program files\common files\vst3 location. I noticed that all other NI plugins are installed in here: C:\program files\common files\native instruments. I moved the KK plugin into the komplete kontrol folder in :\program files\common files\native instruments. I rescanned my vst3 folder in live. It did not show up. I moved it back to the folder in which it was installed and rescanned. It's showing up now. Seems to be some some sort of mismatch as far as default installation locations with NI plugins. Kind of messy but it appears to be working now. Thank you all for your comments.

I have had similar problem, but now it turn into some other issue OR at least something to clarify.

AFAIK to have full functionality of the KK in Ableton one must go and add some script. I remember doing this 2 tears ago. When the script is added and KK placed on the track it has one extra parameter (can't recall the name). when this extra slider is present and advanced fatrues in embeded Kontakt are used everything works as expected). When I drag just plain KK vst3 there is no slider with this parameter and it might not work as expected. This was at least true for vst2 version. I do not know if this is still required for vst3, although I use the Komplete Kontrol keyboard and it is MK1 version. The extra script was (If I remember correctly) necessary in order for the keyboard to work and interact with the KK scroling, selection etc.

I am really super upset that neither KK or Kontakt has database rescanning anymore (whoever did this should go and find another job). Perhaps it is the same person who came up with this super annoying idea t place the commercial advertising at the bottom of paid product (Kontakt7).

It is really frsutrating that there is no information on NI website how to set this up with older keyboards.
