How do I fix this UJAM stuck on Komplete Kontrol's scanning issue?
Hello,
Komplete Kontrol standalone is getting stuck on my UJAM products which prevents me from rescanning my plugins. If I open KK within my DAW (Ableton LIVE) It shows everything correctly in the browser but I am not able to load any libraries whatsoever. However if I open Kontakt 7 I am able to use all libraries except for the UJAM plugins... This means it's a problem with Komplete Kontrol. I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling.

Having had this issue - uninstall the UJAM products. Allow KK to scan on loading, then close, and install the UJAM products.
This was an issue that happend to me when they updated to NKS for some products - but this method fixed the issue for me.

Which OS are you using?

Kontakt doesn’t load plugins so I wouldn’t expect it to be able to load UJAM plugins. It might be worth contacting UJAM too if their plugins are not loading properly in Komplete Kontrol

I would suggest installing the latest versions of everything, and then performing a plug-in rescan via the Komplete Kontrol standalone application

If that does not resolve the issue - I would suggest getting in touch with support

@Pat Erns Before getting in touch with support please try resetting Komplete Kontrol's database:
Reinitialize the KOMPLETE KONTROL Database
- In the Windows File Explorer, go to the following location on your computer:
- C: > Users > *Your Username* > AppData > Local > Native Instruments
- Note: The "AppData" folder is hidden. See this article for instructions to access hidden Windows folders.
- Search through the Native Instruments folder at this location to find the KOMPLETE KONTROL folder.
- Delete only the KOMPLETE KONTROL folder found here.
- Note: Deleting other NI product folders could result in unexpected behavior with other applications.
- Reopen the KOMPLETE KONTROL software to check that the issue has been resolved.

Confirming UJAM USYNTH vst3 still causes Komplete Kontrol 3.2.0 Windows to hang either on initial run scan or after clearing the USER database and running scan in standalone. Process must be killed in Task Manager. Will report to NI support.

I think it has more to do with UJAMs vst3. I've had DAWs do the same thing. (Vice) VST2 might be a better alternative.

Thanks @Vagus I still had no joy after doing this, then I dug in to the hidden Windows system directories "program data" and the local & roaming appdata. There was some cruft in UJAM directories there, which I deleted (the whole directories). It seems to be working now. I installed 5 UJAM instruments as a test run, and they all worked, so fingers crossed that the rest will. In my case, even after uninstalling all UJAM, when I rebooted, and installed the UJAM app, it showed several plugs "activated". Deleting those hidden directories set everything back to "not activated".

I don't think it's a NI problem. All of my software capable of using vst's are getting stuck at USYNTH during 'scanning for new vst's'. Some programs allow "skip this plugin", but some of them are just stuck with no other option then to quit the program using task manager..
