Orchestral - Articulation & FX bug?

Is this a known bug?

Please just infos on the possible bug.

The red switches seem to change the slightly reverby sound or a biiit to long forthgoing note with some of the (Kontakt Factory Library 2) Orchestral instruments. I played around with the red switches for Articulation:

  • sometimes the sound appears to be clean afterwards (aka turning the FX off - this time for real ;)
  • sometimes it does not work
  • it is not working with every Orchestral instrument - just with some
  • just pushing the FX button "off" doesn't do the trick ;) Only after using the red switches.

The Staccato still seems to have the "reverb" on it. No matter what.

I do like the sound but it should have the clean sound aswell.

Please just concrete infos by NI support or users with the same issue - thanks people!

The issue you've described with the Kontrol S-Series MK3's red switches affecting the sound, particularly with some of the Kontakt Factory Library 2 orchestral instruments, may not be a known bug but rather a behavior related to how the switches interact with the instruments.

In some cases, the red switches can control articulations or effects within Kontakt instruments, and the behavior can vary between different instruments and libraries. It's possible that for some orchestral instruments, the red switches affect the sound and may not always result in a clean sound.

To get more concrete information and potential solutions, you may want to reach out to Native Instruments (NI) support or consult with other users who have experienced the same issue. They can provide specific guidance and insights into the behavior you're encountering with the red switches on the Kontrol S-Series MK3 in relation to Kontakt Factory Library 2 orchestral instruments.

    Thank you Ania!

I'm using a Yamaha Reface CP and this behaviour shows just by using using the mouse click click. So no Kontrol MK3 involved here :D

Also the FX button often does not work! Sometimes using the red switches brings the wished clean effectless tone.

I will write directly to support. Maybe it's just my hardware / software or whatever cause I don't see yet.

    To describe it some more:

the FX button is without function after loading Orchestral for example Solo Trombone. Only after changing the Articulation to Staccato and then back to Sustains - tadaa the FX button works.

With instruments that have more than 2 Articulation options (try Orchestral Celli) this does not even work. So the FX button stays without function - no matter what ...

    Happy music making 🎹
