    Hi Matthew.

Brilliant. That fixed the issue. Thank you. As a bonus I noticed I also get the artwork on the S61 MK3 for the other Arturia as well, not just the CS-80v V4, when loading the instrument.

In addition I also uninstalled and reinstalled Komplete Kontrol as well, as the last couple months it’s been crashing on start up just as it was loading the gui after scanning VSTs, and after installing it again it also fixed that problem as well.😀

Yes, I agree and felt the same way. I have to use “Classic Mode” which is the same as the MK2. Actually it is worse because when you label a control on the MK3 it shows up as a partial random collection of the letters on the keyboard vs. the entire words would show up on the MK2. I think NI knew the new NKS2 mappings were poor quality, which is why the kept the classic mode. It would have been a major downgrade if the classic mode wasn’t there. I also agree they did not explain the limitations at all on their launch videos (not being able to edit pages and such). It really did seem like they suggested functionality which was not there.

    This is the latest list:

There are a lot more companies currently working on adding NKS2 than having already shipped it. Most NKS partners tend to do the work, and then line it up with certain release milestones they have planned, many of which were 2024/upcoming.

We kept Classic Mode for a few reasons:

    • So MK3 users could still use the thousands of NKS1 instruments yet to make the transition
    • So MK3 users could still edit their own mappings for an instrument if so desired (critical for some)

It's not that NKS2 will never be user editable, it's just that it requires some more time and thought. NKS1 was per preset, whereas NKS2 is global (one map for the entire plug-in) and supports dynamic parameter allocation. Editing a global map and working through the dynamic permutations is non-trivial.

In terms of the display, we have a font size reduction improvement planned so things will truncate less readily.

@Matthew_NI can users create and save a mapping for non NKS players? It’s very frustrating not being able to see the instrument range of libraries running in players like Sine and Engine 2

There are many on this forum who lead the way in terms of creating "unofficial" and very high quality NKS 1 mappings for products, such as @JesterMgee .

Additionally, on older keyboards, and soon to the new MK3 keyboard, comes the ability to create, edit, save and load MIDI templates, which can also be useful for some products.

Lastly, the MK3 supports VST3ParameterInfo, which has some basic metadata on parameter types we then use (e.g. a bipolar toggle of 0 or 1 can be auto mapped to an On/Off icon).
