Does anyone work with GuitarRig 6 on Mac OS Sonoma?

Hi everyone,

I am using Logic Pro X (newest version) on a Mac with Sonoma (OS 14) installed.

When I installed my Native Instruments Libraries I had trouble with Guitar Rig 6 (and 7).

I don't hear any sound at all, if I use Alchemy everything works...

I saw on the website from Native Instruments that actually they don't support Sonoma OS yet. My problem is that I don't be able to downgrade to 13 or 12 at present.

Does anyone have experience with that.

Thank you in advance

Steve

Native Instruments does not support Somoma in any capacity at this time.

I am not a Mac guy but if you are having this issue - others will be as well.

Your only choice is to get Apple to somehow sort you back to Ventura etc.

my GR6 works in Sonoma in standalone mode, can't test it with Logic Pro X, which I don't use.

    Thank you for your answers,

it seems that it is pure coincidence if GR6 works or not as long as it is not officially supported by native instruments.

Can anybody tell me how long it will take for them (NI) to have it ready for sonoma (your experience regarding the former versions ventura, monterey, big sur, etc...)

    Thanks for your help

I made the mistake of unthinkingly upgrading to Sonoma and its a very mixed bag. I've had trouble opening projects in Maschine 2 and while GR 6 & 7 work standalone as plug-ins in any host they loose their UIs. I would say that the Maschine issues seem to have been mostly resolved by reinstalling Maschine via Native Access, but GR seems totally hosed at this point. When they do run things seem to run much more slowly.

There is little to no chance that GR6 will ever be tested with Sonoma since it is now considered old tech in NIs eyes.

And even at this moment - only two NI products have achieved "official" support:

macOS 14 Sonoma Compatibility Statement – Native Instruments (native-instruments.com)

If I were to speculate - Sonoma testing will focus squarely on GR7 and that's it.

For those upgrading and "hoping" things will work OR worse - "thinking" it works because it seems to run - I still cannot understand why anyone would want to compromise their DAW because Apple thinks it's cool.

If it were me - I would avoid this like the plague until I could confirm that every single thing I use is fully supported.
