Which Expression Pedals are known to work with the new Kontrol MK3 Keyboards?

I have a Yamaha FC7 pedal, but I can't seem to make work it on my S88 Mk3. I have tried all of the calibration steps mentioned above, but I am unable to get it to respond.

Is there a pedal that anyone would recommend?

I have currently two Yamaha FC7 connected to my S88 Mk3, both working well.

Both pedals are configured to use 'Continuous' Mode and the 'Ring' of the plug.

Did you try to calibrate them 'the other way around' as mentioned in one of the former postings from Matthew_NI? There is some confusion about 'up and down' in the calibrating instructions. I noticed, that this is important! It works only in one order; if it is 'inverted' it won't send any values.

Still no luck. I have tried both ways. Is there a specific patch you are using to test the volume. I have been using Ethereal Earth, but I think it should work on anything.

This pedal works well on my Nord Stage 4, in the "Organ Swell" port, which is essentially volume. I am just thinking there could be some basic setting that is preventing it from working. As you know there isn't a switch or setting on the pedal itself.

I did move the pedal to the Assign 1 port and completed a calibration. It did not work there either. I reversed the pedal position during the calibrations, just to be thorough.

So, perhaps there is a problem with the pedal. I have ordered a Boss EV-30 dual Expression Pedal. Otherwise, I don't know what else to do.

I tested it e.g. with Cubase 13 Pro and a midi monitor plugin in an instrument channel and some synth plugins. I also tested both Pedals with Ashlight in Kontrol Software and Kontakt 7 as well. It's easy to assign the pedals to the X- and Y- axis of the central control element there on the Global tab of the plugin. And of course it works with other Stuff as well now.

@funkybooth I got the EV-5 to work - this is what I did and it is the only way I could get it to work - full expression (127) when toe (where the graphics are on the pedal) is down and nothing (0) when the toe is up:

    On the EV-5

Make sure the "Volume" dial on the pedal is set to 0

    On the MK3

Mode = continuous, Invert = on, Swap = Tip

    Calibration:

Move the pedal all the way down = leave the pedal UP, i.e. heal down toe up - press OK

Move the pedal all the up = pedal down, i.e. heal up, toe down - press OK, press OK

    I hope this helps

MK3 and pedals needs an updated article by itself!

Thank you for sharing the details of your setup. This is quite the hairy topic, and having a step-by-step will be helpful for me and for others.

I have it working. I previously had the touch strip assigned to cc64 and it didn't work but after unassigning the touchstrip its working fine now.

I have it setup as continuous, invert off, ring. Switch on pedal itself set to continuous.
