Where did my Komplete Kontrol VST go? Not in my installation paths

Hey all. After updating most of the Native Access apps with Komplete Ultimate I noticed my Komplete Kontrol VST can't be accessed in my DAW. After hours of reading and troubleshoooting it appears the Komplete Kontrol VST isn't on my computer. I index searched the whole computer and it doesn't exist.


When I go in Native Access and click installation path it only gives the path for the app and not the VST. I also checked the file management tab for the vst locations folder and indeed there is no Komplete Kontrol VST dll in either of the folders (32 bit/64 bit)

Additionally, I have my DAW set up to scan every folder in the Native Access file management tab, and have verified there is no komplete kontrol dll in amy of the folders. I also removed komplete kontrol with the removal tool and reinstalled with no luck.

What am I missing to get Komplete kontrol working again on my DAW?

    Maybe the new kk3 version is only VST3? (VST3 doesn’t ask you were to install because it’s a fixed directory, C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3)

    Perfect! Man I wish I asked this hours ago lol. Found it! Thank so much!


    The other piece of this is I think in the update notes they wouldnt remove the vst2 even though it's no longer supported. Currently my DAW doesnt support vst 3. Am I missing where the kk vst2 version is lurking or is it likely I deleted it when I uninstalled and then reinstalled?

    You’re welcome.

    If that is the case, I’m afraid you must join our little club of the “lucky” who will be forced to use last version of KK2, with all the annoyances that comes with (no more updates, no more bug fixes, big attention to any library you update, cause if they update the specs required to KK3 it will not work)

    Gotcha. I gave up and paid to upgrade my daw for the vst3 support, and voila, kk came right back. Ugh the things to do just to enjoy our soundoacks conveniently lol.. thanks again. Prob solved

    Just found this thread and I am having the same issue. I guess after one of the last updates, I can't find the Komplete Kontrol VST in Abelton anymore and I can't figure out how to get it back. I see all the NI separate lines, but can't just load the KK vst to access them all now. I am sure I am making this harder than it needs to be. Any help would be appreciated.
