Is there a slow attack effect yet?

I currently use BiasFX2 for a slow attack effect as I couldn't find one in GR6/4/3/2/1

I recently upgraded to GR7 and still can't see one.

Am I missing something obvious or is this still not available in GR?

I'm not sure what that slow attack effect in BiasFX2 does, but if you are looking for a fade in effect you can build that within Guitar Rig easily like in this attached preset.

    I'lk check out out, thanks.

    Edit:

Thanks, but that's not really it.

The BiasFX2 is using their Poly Octaver inspired by EHX POG 2.

It's set up just to pass the input signal using the Attack, and has a really nice swell with no gate so it tails out nicely. Great for slide. Handles polyphony really well, no issues.

The closest I can find in GR 7 (also previous versions) is the Harmonic Synthesizer, which nails the swell but the cuts off the tail even with a low threshold and high sensitivity. Also, it doesn't handle polyphony (ie: multiple strings) well, though it does mention in the manual it's best on monophonic.

However, as mentioned, the BE2 Poly Octaver has no issue with multiple strings, and results in some very nice effects when you pluck a chord of say 3 strings and slide it while the slow attack gives a nice swell.

Harmonic Synth will also lose the slow attack sometimes when you change strings, resulting in a losing continuity of the slow attacke effect, whereas Poly Ocatver doesn't drop any.

So I guess I'll have to keep BE2 in the chain. It's all I use it for really, I prefer the sounds and workflow in GR.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. Sounds like a very interesting effect, I'll have to check it out 😃
