Why is Battery automatically looping imported samples?
When importing samples into a cell via the "Add Sample..." item in the cell context menu (right click on Windows) some samples are looped automatically. Where is a button to activate the one shot function?

there is indeed a loop set, go to 1 editor, then 2 loop editor then 3 delete the loop.

Thanks for the files @jo-jo-on-tour I can totally reproduce the issue. The loop is pre-made somehow but you can cancel the loop like this:
I know it's not ideal. Trying to get more info on why these samples are pre-looped, I tried to load them in other samplers and they were not looped. Not sure if it's a Battery bug or something else. Are all the one shots of this pack or company having the same problem in Battery?

Go to the loop editor and x all the loop regions out, every loop has a window from start to end and on top right of that window there is an x.

Well, thank you very much.... but unfortunately this doesn't help at all: In one cell is only one sample, no loops defined, no layers - and Battery loops the sample on its own, without any action from me. Only thing I did: Import the sample via the "Add Sample..." option in the right click context menu over the cell. Sorry! I think it's a bug.

You can also set a loop under wave editor, see the linked manual under wave editor points 10;11;12
It's above loop editor

On top of page 53, you mean? Nope, sorry these are only different modes for pre-listening, I guess. I think it's the samples: The concerned samples are with integrated attributes, I guess. They are part of the Akai Force sample package - and maybe they don't want users to share their library content easily. But I have a solution: Making a realtime sample-by-sample-recording, then cutting manually and then importing. This worked fine. It's not really a solution but I can go on working... Thanks for your time! Cheers from Berlin! Afk now, good night!

I will have a look tomorrow if I'm on my computer, there are for sure some free akai samples to try. Maybe there is an easier solution. Good night from Leipzig 😎

@jo-jo-on-tour I checked with a few loops and could not reproduce the issue. If I load a sample, I have to add a loop if I want the sample to loop.
Then I can edit the loop and remove it here:
You mention it happens with some samples and not others. What is the format of these samples? Some formats can iclude loop information, like ACID WAV for example. Check the differences between the ones that get autoimatically looped and those that are not. Is there any difference in the format and/or their origin?

I also checked with a loop from the MPC bible expansion (loop-drum-ddb1 85bpm.wave) and there was a loop set, but i could "x it out", delete the loop and then you have a one shot - so it works as expected

The bug still occurs, I'm sorry! I'm uploading a screenshot and two samples with which the phenomon happens. Today, cell filling happened by simple drag'n'drop (and not like yesterday discribed with the "Add Sample..." item), and then directly testing the cell content by clicking longer on it: Both samples were looped without any further action or settings made by me. Sorry to tell you!

Cool!!!!! Thank you! You guys are really fit with that stuff!!!! That's great!!
Maybe I'm busy too long with samplers and audio stuff that I was only looking for some explicitly marked "one shot mode"- or "loop mode"-buttons. Fantastic! Your solution will save me lots of time!!
Nevertheless: The uncomfortable method "recording -> cutting manually -> importing into Battery" has one advantage, although it's complicated: All the filter and fx settings from my Akai Force are then directly recorded and doesn't have to be rebuilt. Akai has put some unique sounding filter plugins into their Force - and rebuilding these i.e. in Cubase is often lots of work.
If I remind right concerning the samples: These are Splice downloads. My Akai's downloading new files automatically when it's online - which is the reason why I first thought it was Akai samples. Sorry, my fault!
