How to change sound

Good morning,

When using kontakt 7, I'm having trouble understanding how to switch between sounds.

I'm getting there, but I'm not sure I'm doing it right.


When selecting the first sound, it is automatically positioned in midi channel 1.

When selecting the second sound, it is automatically positioned in the midi channel 2.


The only thing I found to switch from one sound to another is:

either to open Kontakt 7 twice

either in the sampler, select the port: omni for the second sound, and mute the first sound.

if i don't select omni port for sound 2, no sound comes


Did I miss something?

    Without knowing what keyboard you're using it's hard to get specific but I would suspect you're keyboard is set to send MIDI on ch1. I'd suggest you pull up the online documentation under the Help menu and go over the full definition of the instrument header to make sure you understand what's there and how it's used as well as how to set what MIDI channel your keyboard is sending on. For myself I just tend to use separate instances of Kontakt since I'm only playing one instrument at any given time in my DAW.
