My new Komplete Kontrol Mk3 keyboards wish

Hi, my wish for the new Komplete Kontrol Mk3 keyboards (if they are coming of course) would be that DAW control buttons are positioned on the right side of the keyboard and not on the left as is the case with the S Mk2 models. I am so used to having them on the right side because basically all the hardware synths I owned had sequencer control buttons on the right side. Anyone else thinks the same?

I prefer DAW controls on the left, as it is more likely my right hand is playing a part.
I'd guess that is major factor in this design decision and it is logical.
The more controls on the left side the better in fact.

I think there's something coming. Saw this on guitar rig pro7...

Good catch....
Ya got a sharp eye!

The big screen will be great :)
Curious to know what the LEDs around the thumbwheel will be used for...

Very curious indeed!

A lot more revealing than the Instagram post...

Hmm... Looks more like a reskin of the MKII to me, so far ...
So, no faders? No pads? I thought they would add more "controllers" to the MkIII, especially after all these years since the release of the Mk2 (October 2017). If this is the new Mk3 coming soon, well, I'm pretty happy with my Novation 61SL MK3 right now (which I bought because I wouldn't see any Komplete Kontrol Mk3 coming out for quite some years, and I needed faders and pads, actually) ...
I was expecting NI to come up with something a bit more innovative, or at least they'd be catching up with the competition. I don't know, something that makes me sell my Novation 😂 ... Let's wait and see until the official release, but so far, from this screenshot or the short Instagram video, I'm not impressed...like at all...

I myself am very pleased that NI did NOT add faders or pads.
I prefer the path NI has chosen.

Faders are great for levels control. If we keep adding stuff like pads, it's going towards a standalone model like the Fantoms.

I wanted pads too but I think the idea is to get you to buy Maschine and KK keyboards. If they put pads on their top end keyboards, or even the A-series keyboards, there’s less incentive to buy maschine for a lot of people. Apple does the same thing with not putting macOS on iPad even though their top iPads now use the same chips as their desktop and laptops. That way you have to buy both if you want every feature.
I prefer separate pads, but having limited space, pads on a keyboard is really helpful. It’s a shame and why I switched to using an m-audio oxygen pro. It’s okay, but I would prefer to go back to KK

Mmm…frankly…yes, from what we see now it looks a little bit like a light revamp.
But…in the end it is more what they’ll do with the software side.
Yes…at the moment, hardware side, it looks like they just added a normal bigger unique screen replacing the 2 divided (that, if you think about it, we’re quite useful. Not for the divided screens themselves, but for the divided knobs: if you wanted to reach the 6th knob without even watching the screens using muscle memory, you knew immediately it was the second one under second screen. Now it is gonna be more difficult ☺️).
But the main point is not that we needed to have a lot more of controls on the keyboard itself, but what we can do with them, e.g. with this one big screen.
Now…I frankly doubt that it will be a touchscreen. Which, believe me my dears touchscreens unlovers, would be awesome. What you can do with a touchscreen on a device like this is not mainly about what you can do ON the touchscreen, but what the touchscreen makes you do on the few physical controllers you have on the device. Think about the MPC Live 2. Or even better the Force. Having a big touchscreen they’re constantly putting at one tap away all the menus and all the choices to make the knobs become what you want and it is VERY useful. One tap and all your knobs become the fxs parameters. One tap and they become your start/end point cursors. And so on. Then…you also want to use the cool touchscreens to chop samples with fingers or launch clips? Nice. But the main plus they add is a big but contained surface that can become at the occasion many different button/things and this gives you access to what transform your physical controls in what you desire without filling the keyboard.
A little bit what you can do now on Maschine with all its buttons and combinations that makes you enter different “modes” and knobs serves multiple purposes.
Therefore…if the software side will be implemented and the new big screen (even if not touch) will show a lot of things, allowing comfortably and with a nice workflow to access many parameters and functions on the few knobs/buttons available, clearly labeled and reflected on the screens, yes…a light revamp Hardware side that could be useful anyway. (And this could be also a theory for the LED’S Circle mystery: if the 4d encoder (which is endless) can become a knob for anything selected on the display, the led’s circle is needed to show the position of the controlled parameter) 😏
If the big screen will be just a “hey, we don’t have the bezel in the middle now”….meh…at this point it was better the 2 groups of 4 knobs easily learnable, muscle memory speaking 😂

There’s a lot you can’t tell from a picture though

Exactly. All the software side.
What will all these knobs, buttons, screen be able to do? Just what they do now or more?
(imagine if they have a page with a menu to create NKS…turn first knob, second, third,… ok…All parameter selected, import a banner image. Done. ☺️)

No not just the software side

This is probably the moment of max illumination in the video.
Somebody can tell what the 3 buttons bottom left over the lightstrip say?
