Daw Audio & Quicktime video

Ok so I've now got my S88MK2 working in Komplete kontrol in standalone.

It's also now working in my Logic Pro DAW. -

The issue I'm struggling with is when I start quicktime and select the audio source. No matter what I try, I'm not getting the audio sound to quicktime.

I'd like to play and record the video but have the audio source fed from the DAW through the audio interface or internally directly to quicktime.

The S88 uses USB to connect to the USB thunderbolt hub. From there, the Audio interface connects via usb. The audio interface has a microphone and guitar plugged in the front. The AI - has studio monitors connected and when I'm in the DAW, I hear the S88MK2 and all the sounds out of the speakers. including the mic and guitar so from the DAW, it all seems to work.

However, once I try to use quicktime, I lose the USB part and only the 1/4 inch guitar and microphone for inputs 1&2 seem to work. The S88MK2 audio passes through the AI and I can hear it on the studio monitor, but the quicktime software doesn't hear it and theres no meter deflection showing signal.

I've selected the scarlet 2i2 as the audio source, I've checked settings to allow access, I've tried a program called blackhole and nothing seems to allow me to record the audio through quicktime.

If it's not possible or if I need another software, does anyone know of a way to record both audio and video? The goal is to record the various parts and then edit them together in final cut, but as it stands right now, the live performance recording on quicktime is mute for anything related to Komplete.

Quicktime is supposed to be able to record audio and video, has anyone else encountered this? recording audio in logic pro, then minimizing that running quicktime to capture the video portion seems oddly cumbersome. The point of recording both is so that the video and audio are synchronized.

@ZBluesman Why using Komplete Kontrol in standalone? Why not playing it inside Logic?

I tried to record Logic with Quicktime, with Maschine as a plug-in playing and playing / recording an external drum synth (nord drum 3p). If I select the soundcard for Quicktime, make sure that Logic uses the same audio interface, make sure the track in Logic has input monitoring, then it works, I've got everything. The sound quality is not great though.
