Bizarre behavior on drum set in kontakt 7 factory library band

I everyone! I just bought Komplete 14 and I am very happy! But...

I don't know if it is just me, but some drum mapping in the band factory library (Kontakt 7) is one half-step higher. (jazz kit, platinum kit, pop kit, rock kit for example. central stage and studio break are ok)

Also, the jazz guitar (also in the band factory library) behave strangely.

Is it just a bug from the factory library or it's me and I need to reinstall the factory?

Thanks for answering.

@Martintamarre I could reproduce the issue with the drum kit, yes indeed, the notes shown in the GUI don't correspond to the actual notes you play on the keyboard. I'm reporting this to the Kontakt Instruments team.

For the Jazz Guitar, I guess it's an artistic choice and not necessarily a standard jazz guitar. Acoustic Fingering, it does sound weird, I must admit, I'll ask about it.

Maybe the manual will give you some insights:

Hey Martin, yeah, you're not crazy, or at least you're not the only one! The Kontakt Instruments team is now informed of the wrong notes for the drums and this weird 12 string guitar that is mostly fret noise.

I just checked and over here the Band Factory Library presets are all as I would expect, with the first base drum starting on C1.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks Jay for giving me your experience and your point of view! :-)

I really don't know why some preset show me (for example) triggered C#1 on Kontakt 7 when I hit the C1 on my keyboard, and some others are ok. May be it's just a bug of installation.

I will wait some days to see if others users are ok with their library, then I think I must reinstall the libray.

I also heard some weird noises and the end of certain samples in the orchestral clarinet (like some clothes or paper or breathing) and I know I'm not alone who heard these noises for this instrument. Hope of an update patch on this (I think i'ts coming, Native Instrument said they work on that).

    Have a nice day.

@Martintamarre Are you still experiencing this issue? Is it happening with an external keyboard? What model/brand? Is it the same if you use the blue keyboard inside Kontakt's window?

Hi Jeremy! Thanks for answering me and sharing your views. As a owner of Komplete 6 and beyond, I have never experienced this kind of behavior with a Native Instrument product. I want to stress that my "singularity" is only for the Kontakt 2 Library, and only for some presets, the others works well. So, my question is: is Kontakt library 2 have some bugs, or it's a faulty installation and I need to reinstall the library? Let's see again.

I tried with the Kontakt piano viewer, and it exhibit the same behavior than my keyboard. With drum «Jazz presets» (and some others drums), the mapping doesn't match the hitting key (1/2 step higher, if I hit C1 then Kontakt showed I hit C#1). With the preset «central stage», the mapping is ok. Otherwise, have you tried some guitar presets on Kontakt Library 2? When I played trough «jazz guitar» or «acoustic fingering 12 strings», the results are... intersting but very strange. And the clarinet on the orchestral folder exhibit some noises and the ends of some samples (like breathing, or keys, or paper).

I have installed the Kontakt update but it doesn't change anything. Before committing myself to reinstall (and download again) the Kontakt 2 library, I will wait to see if someone have the same problem as me. Then I will wait an update, else I will reinstall the library.

Thank you, have a nice day. Martin

Hi Jeremy! Thanks for your answer, it confirmed what I thought. And my sanity. ;-)

Yes (and thank you for the suggestion!), I've read the online manual, but as far as I can understand (i'm not english fluency reader/sepaker), there's no hint to correct or change the behavior of these presets of Kontakt Library 2 (no keyswitches from keyboard or switches/pot on the preset interface ).

In the meantime, I have redowload/reinstall the Library 2 to see that it doesn't change anything.

So, thanks to let know Native Instrument about this «problem?», on my side, I think I'll wait an update and use the old library for the sounds I don't like in the new one.

    Have a nice day.

    Martin
