Rhythm Animator (Session Strings 2)

I'm just working with SS2 for the first time.

I've done some automation, added some key switches to change rhythm patterns on an 8 bar phrase. Now that I'm past that phrase, I'd like to toggle off the pattern and get some sustained strings for texture on the second verse. Does anyone know what the move for shutting off the pattern is once it's on and whether this is automatable?

Personally I just use a separate track for the sustained strings. It makes it simpler to either separate or mix them independently.
