Komplete Kontrol hangs on startup

When I launch Komplete Kontrol on Windows, it hangs on the splash screen - displaying that it's scanning plugins. Giving up after several minutes (I've let it run 30 minutes) I kill the process in Task Manager and restart it. It comes up but with nothing showing in the browser. When I try to scan plugins again, it hangs again. It seems to always hang on the IK Multimedia Syntronik plugin.

    For reference you can press ESC on the splash to attempt to cancel any scanning.

    Sometimes what can happen is a plugin is interrogated and maybe is a demo or needs activation and I have had it where the popup for the activation appears behind the loading splash and halts everything. Occasionally a plugin can also just cause the scanner to lock up. I believe if a plugin ends up stopping the scanner on next launch it is "blacklisted" and skipped over which may be why several restart attempts finally work.
