Komplete Kontrol A49 buttons don't light up and don't work in Cubase

I just got a Komplete Control A49 keyboard and I can get it to work as a MIDI keyboard in Cubase to play VST instruments, but the play, record, metro, temp etc. buttons don't work. They all light up when I first plug it in, but they go dark after a second or so.

I've tried to follow this guide: https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/4406832231441-How-to-Integrate-KOMPLETE-KONTROL-with-Your-DAW

But already on step 5 there is a problem. This guide tells me to click "add device", but my keyboard does not show up in this menu. I am able to use it as a MIDI keyboard though with no setup or anything. I just plugged it in and it works for that. So what do I need to do to get the buttons to work with Cubase? I have Cubase 12.

Missing Komplete Kontrol DAW port usually means you need to install the BOME driver manually: https://www.bome.com/products/bmidi

Do you have the Artist or Pro version of Cubase 12?

If you use Elements, AI or LE these are not supported as far as I know, only Artist/Pro are supported.

K, that rules that out of the equation. I don't have much more knowledge on Cubase

From your pictures it seems to me the Komplete Kontrol DAW port is missing (which is the one that must be chosen exactly to use the buttons you say are not working for you).

Try to manually Install the drivers for your keyboard to see if something changes

@huzi123 On Mac, it's a little bit different. Have you installed Komplete Kontrol? Is everything functional in Komplete Kontrol in standalone? Does Komplete Kontrol and your DAW have full disk access? How to Enable Full Disk Access on macOS

Have you checked these steps? My KOMPLETE KONTROL Keyboard Does Not Start
