    I think it depends how you want to work. Personally I’m not all that bothered to have a weighted action keyboard. I use a Roland MIDI controller which is velocity sensitive but not weighted. I also have the miniature KORG keyboard just for bashing notes in. But as often as not I get MIDI data into Cubase by inputting it into notation software (I used to use Sibelius - now I use MuseScore) and then exporting to MIDI. To me this is far quicker than laboriously putting notes directly into Cubase, but then I’m composing and arranging in quite a traditional way. Once the MIDI data is in Cubase, You can visit our blog as well ( kuyhaa-me.id ) I voice it up with my VSTi packages (Kontakt, Garritan, SampleTank and a number of Sonic Couture products) and manipulate the MIDI data by hand, note by note, until I get the musical performances I require. This is laborious and minute work, but it does get the desired effect.
