Controller connection issue

I should be able to play directly from my controller (old KX88) through Kontakt, correct?

I looked at all the MIDI settings and they are identical to the ones using Pianoteq but I don't see any information passing. Do I need to go through a DAW in addition?

No, start with Kontakt as 'stand-alone' , eliminating any other obstacles. Try loading an instrument and using the Kontakt keyboard to trigger sounds. Make sure your audio settings are all correct.

There is also a midi monitor script available in the rack if you press the 'KSP' button top right which will show any midi activity.
