Re: Maschine 2.15 is out!
I have the same issues.
How is it possible ? Are you serious NI ?
We have to wait patiently ? that's it?
Maschine + costs more than 1000 β¬ !
We have to accept that Maschine plus will never be a finished product, it's a draft.
I have always been very satisfied with NI products but maschine plus is very disappointing.
I am seriously considering moving on.
Re: Maschine 2.15 is out!
Hey @Sequencesounds Here's about the Auto Backup feature:
This simple feature is namedΒ Automatic Backup. It can be found on the General page of the Preferences and enables MASCHINE to autosave your project in the event of a crash. If the feature is enabled, and in the event of a crash, when you reopen MASCHINE it will ask you if you want to reload the last project. The user has no control over what is saved by this feature, and only the project open when MASCHINE crashed is available to reload.A link to the General Preferences page in the manual (were the features is covered) is available online here: @toneyrome

Thumbs up if you want a dedicated thread for M+ tailored ensembles π

Re: Best sounds for techno on Maschine
Now, OP already found a solution to his problem but even though I'm well aware to be talking long after the facts I still can't help add a comment of my own...
Why would you only want to rely on pre-made material in the first place? Sure, if you grab an expansion such as the latest Lunar Echos you can get some really cool sounds out of it, and of course pretty fast as well. Just go over the groups until you find something you enjoy, load it in and you're pretty much ready to play.
However... why not take the time & effort to build up your own sound kits? As someone else above me also mentioned: even the Maschine standard library has plenty of material which you can use for this. For example... the "Junkie XL kit" which contains some very dark percussion. "Kaboom Kit" anyone? Or what about the Techstar kit?
There's already so much material available. And do keep in mind that you don't have to rely on full premade groups either. The sound section also contains plenty of material which you could use as a basis and then expand on that by customizing and/or tweaking. Say... "Square Unison Too", "Tibetian", "Unobass", "Maple Detroit" or... "Fast Gate"?
But if you really want to get some dark sounds... why not go even deeper and use one of the 6 drum synths to set up your own sound?
It will take more time, true enough, but you'll also get completely different results than fully relying on premade stuff.
Re: User Reaktor ensembles on Maschine+ Standalone
Yes, Reaktor is a great addition to M+. I have been messing with building and modding ensembles for M+ use and have learned to deal with most of the challenges in porting ensembles to M+ so far.
Here's some of my findings which might be of interest:
β’ For maximum compatibility with M+, it is best to build ens files with the same version of Reaktor desktop as the Maschine+ version. Currently this version is 6.4.3., but this will change to 6.4.4. once the next Maschine+ OS update is released (betatesters of 1.4 already have Reaktor 6.4.4 running on their M+s)
β’ Getting parameter ID's through to Maschine, ID numbers of all parameters should be kept below 100. Reordering Reaktor ID's is a PITA but this must be done if you want the parameters accessable in M+. I'm not sure if only Automation ID's are relevant, but I've used the same ID's for both File ID's & Automation ID's, just to be sure.
β’ You need to use Maschine desktop for "tidying up" your ensembles. Once you are ready to deploy your ens to M+, open your ensemble in Maschine desktop, then click the "Pages" button (its below the "Automation" button next to a sound's paramters). Begin by deleting all parameter pages and clearing all assignments, this gets rid of all the mess. Next, start adding in your ensemble's parameters with the LEARN function. Create any relevant subpages so as to group the encoder banks in a way which makes the most sense for your ens (don't be afraid to leave gaps in the encoder rows if a particular page makes sense with less than 8 encoders). Finally, Create labels to your parameter pages by double clicking on the fields above the parameter knobs on the screen. These labels can be longer than the names of the controls, you can preview how the labels look by temporarily going into "Automation".
β’ If a specific parameter name looks weird in Maschine, you can make "aliases" of the parameter names via Reaktor. In the inspector pallette, go to the "Connect" tab, at the bottom in the section called "AUTOMATION" there is a field called "Custom Parameter Name": type in the new name for the parameter and it should immediately update in Maschine.
β’ Once you have tidied up the parameters, and laid everything out nicely on the param pages with sensible labelling, you need to save the reaktor as a Maschine sound. After this, you can quit Maschine desktop, Open up Reaktor, and load in that Maschine sound preset you just saved. Now, resave your snapshot and resave the ensemble, the snapshot you resaved will now have all the parameter mappings embedded you just created in Maschine.
β’ After all this, just copy the ens file to your SD card and you should be done!
PS: Make sure your ens build is located at the topmost level of the ensemble! Otherwise it will not load in M+
Also, consider adding event smoothers to parameters which intoduce glitching when modulated/automated in M+
Re: Maschine 2.15 is out!
Sorry, can't hold this in: what an absolute mess! I would be totally ashamed if i was managing this from a product or engineering perspective.
It's gotten to the point where i don't even dare to upgrade the software, as I don't trust the engineering and QA departments of NI anymore. There's just to much loose ends and illogical things going on.
Not to mention the "cancel culture" tendencies starting to appear here on the forum: if you are (too) critical, you're creating a "toxic atmosphere" and the thread is locked/post is deleted. Yeah, let's all celebrate each other for another job well done, and keep on doing what we do, and remove any critical voices, as it's not fun to listen to. Only positive news please!
Pathetic, and shameful. Sorry, cannot give another conclusion for this cluster-f.

@tetsuneko and all other users that want to downgrade to Maschine 2.14.7 in order to keep their Maschine and Maschine Plus in sync, here are the installers:
