Simple overview of all the elements in audio/music production
Where do I start? So there's Pro Tools on a PC, and that's my DAW, but then it just gets crazy confusing. Is there a simple explanation on how all the companies and plug-ins, peripherals and vsts work together? I'm overwhelmed by all the brands, like Steinberg, Native Instruments, Kontak, Komplete Keyboard, to VST's like Tina Guo Legato Cello and a myriad of plug-ins after that. There has to be a video out there that explains how all these brands and resources connect. Right? Can you help me get started?

The majority of DAWS can load all the type of virtual instruments format existing (being them vst2, vst3, aax, Au,…).
In your case, you chose a peculiar DAW, which supports only AAX format.
In any case, I’ll leave a link to a very brief article explaining a little bit of this
