Problems registering FM8 in Native Access 2

I purchased FM8 from Plugin Boutique a few months ago, but for various reasons, have only now had the opportunity to try to install it. On my Plugin Boutique account, it lists the FM8 plugin and shows 2 serial numbers. In both cases, I clicked on "Add Serial" and entered the number. In both cases, I received the message "You have successfully registered your product". However, the number of installed products remained resolutely at 48 items, and searches for "fm8" yield no results.

Like the person in this discussion, it only cost me £10 thanks to a special offer by Plugin Boutique, but nonetheless, I don't think it's unreasonable of me to expect the software to be able to be registered and installed...

Any idea @Jeremy_NI ? Thanks in advance!

@carl.caulkett I can see your two FM8 serials successfully registered to your account. It should show in Native Access, sometimes it can take a little time. Are they still not showing In Applications?

If it's still not showing, please get in touch with our installation specialists here:  http://bit.ly/NIsupport_install

Thanks for the reply Jeremy! I've just tried Native Access again, but it won't even run now. This is the error it gives...

Note that I have been into System Settings and granted Full Disk Access to Native Access...

This error comes up every time I try to run Native Access.

Well, while waiting for support to get back to me (They haven't yet!) I did some digging and found this web page https://community.native-instruments.com/discussion/4266/please-grant-permission-to-native-access-to-install-dependencies-na2-on-mac-on-2-6-0/p1.

I ran the commands in the script and reinstalled Native access 2, restarting my computer as and when required to, but Native Access 2 still doesn't run.

I then followed the steps on https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/4748946468497-How-to-Downgrade-Native-Access-2-to-Native-Access-1 to downgrade to Native Access 1. Version 1 has the distinct advantage over 2 in that it actually works. I can live with the old-skool graphics! I now have FM8 installed and all is well.

I can't help feeling that it would have been easier and quicker for you to have pointed me to those pages rather than your slightly flip comment of "Double reason to get in touch with our support!"... particularly in light of the fact that you wrote the first article 🤔

I've just noticed that you posted a subsequent answer with a link to a new (and presumably working NKTDaemon), but now that I've got a working Native Access, that can wait for another day...

Hey @carl.caulkett I'm not an installation / Native Access specialist, I do what I can to help users out of here in a lot of different areas. I did not know that downgrading to Native Access 1 would bring you FM8 back. I did write the "please grant permissions... article but to me, the most important and urgent was the initial issue and the number of problems seemed to be growing, hence the link to our support. Sorry if I misjudged the situation.

Not a problem Jeremy! I was just a bit sore that I had spent about an hour tracking down that information. Everything (apart from NA2!) is working now, so it's all good 😉
