AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D
... has been released. Seems to be stronger than M1 Ultra, and I estimate that most probably also a bit more than M2 Ultra. It has only very basic iGPU comparing to M1 Ultra, but comparable to Intel's iGPUs.
16C/32T, up to 128 GB of DDR5 RAM. And big L3 cache which might be helpfull for Kontakt.
The energy efficiency is a bit worse than that of M1 Ultra, but not considerably worse. M2 has faster clock than M1, so maybe energy efficiency comparing to M2 Ultra will be even closer.

Prices of available computers ready to use today? There’s any compatibility issue?
I will love to see side to side comparisons ans check if it’s truly an alternative over win/linux.

One has to build PC himself, or get it build. MSRP of CPU is 700USD. The rest MB, 128 GB DDR5 RAM, 2 TB SSD could be another 600-700USD.
And comparison... More detailed would be nice, but so far at least this:
